House Sparrow
The Male House sparrow is working hard to bring up chicks in a nearby nest-box picking up worms to feed the young one.

Black-necked Stork
The black-necked stork (Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus) is a huge wading bird with a spectacular and distinctive plumage. Easily recognised by its striking black-and-white markings, this bird possesses a jet-black head, wing bar and tail, which contrast against the white plumage of the rest of the body . Near Threatened
The combined populations of South and Southeast Asia are thought to total less than 400 individuals, and this species would be classified as Endangered if it were not for the more abundant Australian populations, consisting of 10,000 to 20,000 birds

Verditer Flycatcher
This bird derives its name from its color................. light blue or bluish-green .
This one was picked on 2April 15 at Jaiharkhal ,near Landsdowne.(Uttranchal)
Feeding Habit: Chiefly

These shots were taken on way back from Lansdowne on 3April,2015.
We stopped the car on Kotdwar Road on hearing some bird activity. Suddenly this 10 cm wonder appeared on a bush near us and started calling incessantly.
We made the most of it!

Spot-billed Ducks
Whereas most migratory birds have left Surajpur Wetlands ,these local birds are giving company to Northen shovellers.It had rained previous night and the sky is still overcast with poor light.
Luck favored as this pair took off in a synchronous flight and separated later.
My auto focus worked with great result.
Weaver Birds
grain.The birds fly in flocks to hover from one field to other and perching on tree=top and other
bushes in between.Some of the birds are in breeding plumage.The flock has all three species namely
Weaver bird,Streaked Weaver and black-breasted Weaver.
